  2. I have a number of Soviet LPs from the 50's, and I have found that some of them track much better using a conical stylus. The elliptical stylus just seems to bottom out on the groove. Perhaps that might help here.

  3. That was unbelievable. The music stopped me in my tracks,Kondrashin is "tame"in comparison.
Thought the fidelity of recording was more then adequate,I was expecting much worse, but its all about the music.
Please can we have The Palace Square next.

  4. Yes! Recently wrote someone who posts here that Kondrashin/Moscow PO is left standing by this..not least by the sheer emotional intensity. As so much is quiet music, just leaving the files 'raw' would mean subsequent 'auto click-removal' could severely damage the sound. Have waveform-repaired the other 3 sides to a reasonable degree - so will likely upload in one go later in the week...possibly uploading a single-file FLAC, too.

Another interesting post, but what happened with the bells at the end? It's supposed to alternate between B flat and B natural, with the minor chord prevailing, but I only hear the B naturals. Did they not have enough bells for the recording or were there orders from on high to end in the major? Think I'll stick with Berglund and Kondrashin, but thanks all the same!
