    1. Avec plaisir – même si j'ai entendu des prestations plus "dynamiques" !

  2. Of course you'll get a response: at least from me, and a very grateful one at that! It's really marvellous, your transfer and the performance! Cannot thank you enough. Not even BNF digitised this one, so you've done us all a favour. Gratefully yours, George

    1. I've just added a 1.3 declicked version - uploaded WAV as gave the option to further 'experiment!
His playing is better than the Concert Hall from 1960's. Happy to oblige...fortunately it was a good (new) pressing.

  3. Really great - thanks a heap! Love these ol' organ LPs! Say, if you have any of those scarce Eggington LPs on L'Oiseau-Lyre, it'd be great if you could do them. BNF didn't do a great job with the two Bachs. Doug

    1. Hello Doug: BNF likely couldn't find decent copies. I've not got them; O-L originally indifferently pressed/flimsy outer+internal packaging = Damaged!
Have a nice MFP pressing (MFP2111) of Weinrich/Bach Westminster 1956 stereos - getting EMG's highest rating for sound.
Otherwise mostly have the 'usual suspects' on Archive but not much other 1950's (Germani's ..Downes (the original 1958 PYE stereo - likely phase-reversed!). Any Mercury/Dupre are horridly recorded...

  4. Many thanks for this, and for adjusting the sound successfully.

I have fond memories of the MFP 2111, especially the C minor passacaglia & fugue. It would be great to hear it again if you were going to transfer it.

    Kind regards

    Andrew

  6. Thank you for this and the other post. I've only recently started to appreciate vinyl rips and your site has been instrumental in that.

    1. Ironically, aside from the time editing them, I don't listen to them myself (apart from on the tiny computer sqeekers - which aren't designed for Organs)!!!
One of the early transfers (the 1949 Schoenberg 'Serenade') I very much later downloaded from a CD-rip - and thought it superior - not that I scrimped on the playback cartridge (Decca Gold). I thought LP's were obsolete nearly 60 years back - but, having so many, CD never was viable - and what I heard from them seemed disappointing - the music never seemed to 'expand' in terms of Dynamics - so LP (at least played directly) is a viable format, still...
Of course, I'm transferring near-antiques - and not necessarily the best-sounding!
