Merci pour cette restauration. Je ne connaissais pas cette musique L'interprétation est très belle.
ReplyDeleteCharles Mackerras à gravé une seconde version en stéréo quelques années plus tard ?
ReplyDeleteHave his 3 other versions: HMV CSD1399 (1960/RPO) - CFP 40293 (1977/LPO) - Decca SXDL 7619 (1982/Philharmonia).
DeleteI prefer this 1951/33SX1001 to the RPO version - but usually listen to the LPO (c/w "Lady & the Fool") - never listened to the SXDL!
Had intended uploading this years back- also CFP 40268 - the 1961 Philharmonia: Gaite/Graduation Ball - which is excellent.
Muchas gracias, saludos.
ReplyDeleteMe alegra que te haya gustado esto; quizás a otros también les haya gustado, pero he desistido de esperar respuestas, lo que se refleja en la disminución en el número de nuevas publicaciones!
DeleteThank you! More Sullivan, please!
ReplyDeleteFor Masochistic's I could transfer the 1985 HMV Treasury of early recordings (from 1898....) - recently asked-for on SymphonyShare.
DeleteHad intended the 1980 WRC Pirates/Sorcerer (1929/33) some years back (but didn't have the otherr 2 reissues: sound on 'Pirates' is remarkable)
... and should've done the WRC Alwyn/RPO ages back.
All these had superb vinyl - which this one didn't (slightly 'used' with lots of cleaning needed).
So should do at least 1 of the above - have added the sleeve-note of the Victorian/Edwardian horror-show here!
