Thank you very much for making the rest of this LP available --- the first portion was tremendous, in particular the Schoenberg --- I have never heard a performance of the 'Music for a cinematographic scene" played so beautifully. I am looking forward to hearing the Berg Seven Early songs (one of my very favorite pieces, in a performance I have never even heard of!) and the clarinet pieces.
ReplyDeleteI will comment on the Isserlis Scriabin once I have had a chance to actually listen to the download.
Keep up the great work --- wonderful covers too!
You weren't the only one who 'twisted my arm'..Amusingly, I'd intended (months back) uploading Robert Craft's 'Webern' - in Philips' 4LP transfer (imported from Holland /1960). New pressings/great booklet. Seems that's not worthwhile now..! Your comments are much appreciated - you should enjoy the Berg - good sounding for '50/51. Sorry I'm uploading so little; still not on broadband!
ReplyDeleteTin Ear - This site is an extremely valuable enterprise and I have a few suggestions of my own.
ReplyDeleteIf you can, please upload the early Webern/Craft.
The Second Viennese School recordings by Rene Leibowitz on Dial and Nixa.
I will try-out the Webern box (which is unplayed/as new; but that doesnt mean Noise-Free: the major, time-consuming, aspect in my dubs..). I dont have the others mentioned; in fact such material was rarely bought (UK) during the 50s - and the imported Philips/Webern was quite a Luxury set (nearly the cost of 5LPs..)
ReplyDeleteFrank, thanks so much for this transfer! A special thanks for renewing the dead link. It is very much appreciated!
