  1. These are very fine recordings! I would like to listen to more vocal recordings from fine singers. Is there a possibility to get invited to your opera blog (Opera Parlour)? I would appreciate this!
If you are interested in historical recordings, please visit my blog. My e-mail is recordplayer78(at)googlemail.com. Thank you!

  2. Hello Emilio. The Opera blog currently only has 4 BBC Broadcasts - and I tend to 'close it down' periodically as most Opera recordings (LP era) are on CD - this also applies to many 78's so it is essentially 'redundant'.

There are still some Vocal recitals on LP never on CD: ie, Anton Dermota (LXT 2592) - the Lieder side with Hilde Dermota never re-issued - the Paul Schoeffler Mozart tracks are also on LXT 2685 together with Dermota / Reining / Della Casa - but transferring old (but absolutely mint/'unplayed') 60yo LPs is problematic; and two of the Dermota Mozart/R.Strauss tracks sound so much better on a slightly later '45'...

Then there's Gerard Souzay (LXT 2543) - and one item from a later Schubert 10" LP (LX 3514) hasn't been re-issued - nor the entire Ilse Hollweg (LX 3054) - nor Rossi-Lemani on HMV - to take a few examples.

    1. Hello.
As mentioned previously there are only a few BBC relays on the Opera blog (2x obscure British: which I've, anyway, removed the files + 2x Russian).

As also mentioned above I may (if I continue the blogs) add some early Decca recital LP's; also could - easily - re-transfer Gerard Souzay's French Opera recital (New SO / Paul Bonneau) from 1956 - also on 'Grandi Voci' -which was quite popular some 3 years ago...

I mainly uploaded these due to some of the Schoeffler's not being available - despite the high-quality of the singing.

  4. Nurnberg, Walkure, Bohm - is 16 March "Boycott the Umlaut Day" now?! But thanks! Always good to see a Knappertsbusch recording!
