Hello
ReplyDeleteI have been following the Popular Music Parlour but recently it has been invited readers only.
Would it be possible to be invited?
I was enjoying the various non classical pieces on that blog as well as the classical on here.
thank you
Tim
Hello Tim,
DeleteSorry about that - but I've probably 'killed it off' for good as am really not 'too well endowed' with popular material (unless you've a Penchant for British/US Dance Bands of the '20's - 40's !!) and 'copyright' can also be a problemo -even with pre-1963 LP's..so it's best to leave that stuff to the 'specialist' blogs - who seem to have vast quantities.
I do add quite a lot of 'non-heavy' classical hereabouts (as I'm not flogging the stuff it's not a case of constant 'Furtwangler-Walter-Klemperer' uploads: 'because they are significant') ..and, TBH, the 3/4 blogs I maintain (fairly regularly - except for the 78 blog) are quite enough of a 'burden'.
..as a PS: I do have rather a good collection of 'Musicals' - but, by and large, even pre-1963, they are now on CD - and there are only small quantities which go 'out of print' (hence become expensive CD's) - of which I added 3 examples..but that really doesn't justify a separate blog.
DeleteThank you for letting me know. I am sure the blogs can be a burden, with all the hard work it takes to produce the material. It is appreciated though I can assure you.
ReplyDeleteI am currently listening to the Pagliacci of which I used to have a set of 78's as a kid. Took me ages to get into it though as a child.
