  1. Thank you so much for this - I've loved this recording for many years and it's good to have it in such a good transfer.

  2. I was asked to transfer this quite some time back - but my enthusiasm 'flagged' with the slow tempi of mvt.2 - also the transfer sounded excessively 'toppy' - but using a different cartridge it has a more balanced sound - and still retains the fine-detail. I had intended including the Falla 'Nights' (Curzon) - have some 4 transfers - also his 1946 LSO / Falla - but the latter was on a new/ancient LXT 2621 - which needed quite a bit of 'adjustment'.

  3. Never heard this and (as I write) am downloading. I once met a pianist, an amanuensis of Claudio Arrau, who thought Enrique Jorda was one of the unsung heroes of the classical music world. Not much material around to make a judgement..... Thanks

  4. Thanks so much for these treasures.
By the way, do you have the 1938 world premiere of Barber's Adagio by Toscanini?
    Thanks in advance.

  5. No... :~((

I do have quite a lot of Toscanini on 78/early LP - but have never 'collected' him - just what (used to) come along in various collections.

The Decca UK transfers (RB/VIC) are really very good - especially the Dvorak 9 / Debussy Iberia - and the Tchaikovsky Manfred - and seem mostly to be much better than older US RCA - whose metalwork was invariably used for the earlier UK HMV issues..and have often considered uploading the 3 mentioned for that reason.
